Sunday 27 May: Abide With Me by Elizabeth Strout
In a small New England town in the late 60s a young minister is struggling with personal grief and anger after the death of his wife. This leads him to struggles with his faith which impacts on his congregation who start to question his position, respectability and position as a father. The book is a subtle exploration of relationships, community and faith.
If you are interested please come along with a copy of the book (and a sandwich if you want or buy something in the cafe). We welcome people who cannot come each month or who haven’t finished the book!
