Sunday 26 August: A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry
Set in the mid-1970s in India this book tells the story of four unlikely people whose lives come together during a time of political upheaval. Through days of bleakness and hope, their circumstances – and their fates – become inextricable linked in ways no one could have foreseen. In the middle of cruelty and failure “you have to maintain a fine balance between hope and despair.”

If you are interested please come along with a copy of the book (and a sandwich if you want or buy something in the cafe). We welcome people who cannot come each month or who haven’t finished the book!
