Sunday 22 July: Inside the Wave by Helen Dunmore
This is Helen Dunmore’s final collection of poems written during her experience of terminal cancer. In it she approaches questions of mortality, memory, family and the passage of time. The final poem “Hold out your arms” was written less than two weeks before her death. The book received both the Poetry Award and Book of the Year Award in the 2017 Costa Book Awards.
If you are interested please come along with a copy of the book (and a sandwich if you want or buy something in the cafe). We welcome people who cannot come each month or who haven’t finished the book!
